Bake Sale Recap!

Last Saturday, I hosted a bake sale, in which all the goodies were gluten-free, vegan, soy-free, and baked by the girl below (aka- me).

This is my third year running selling at this local community spring fair (it’s really tiny). All the proceeds went to River’s Wish Animal Sanctuary this year!

The goods:

Baked Cinnamon Sugar Donuts from “Babycakes covers the classics

Espresso Almond scones, adapted from a recipe in “Flying Apron gluten-free and vegan baking book“. They were crazy delicious– left me a bit worse for where though, what with both espresso and sugar to jack me up (I went on a REAAALLY intense bike ride after the sale ended to run off some steam!).

Chips Ahoy (the gf vegan knockoff), from “Babycakes covers the classics“. I took half of the huge batch to a party the night before– they were well recieved, and by far the best chocolate chip cookie recipe I’ve ever made.

My trusty friend the Chocolate-Covered Macaroon, from the Flying Apron cookbook!

Un-pictured: 5-spice cookies, from my newest cookbook “Vegan Desserts” by Hannah Kaminsky (writer of the blog, Bittersweet).

The Five-spice cookies were excellent– chewy, with a delicious fresh spice flavor. Definitely gonna make these again (only next time I can keep them all to myself) :).

There were not as many people attending the fair as last year, so I was left with a  Tupperware tub of baked goods for the family to enjoy (I had already eaten my fair share of raw dough, scraps of baked goods, and crumbs for breakfast two days running! Didn’t stop me from eating one of the unsold donuts though. Yum!).

I raised almost one hundred dollars for the critters at River’s Wish Sanctuary. But more than rasing the funds for the animals, I love it when people with allergies can eat my treats. Three of my costumers on Saturday had allergies, and were very happy costumers indeed :).

Have you ever hosted/donated to a bake sale?

Apart from this bake sale I’ve donated to an online bake sale as well :).
